Please read the following about volunteer responsibilities.
LACROSSE HOME GAME DAY VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS & DESCRIPTIONS:
- Each family is expected to volunteer for 2 volunteer slots which could breakdown as follows:
- 2 concession slots
- 2 field duty slots
- 1 concession and 1 field duty slot
- All coaches (head & assistants), board members, team managers and sponsors are exempt from volunteer requirements.
- If you are unable to fulfill these requirements, you can opt to pay $25 to a student aged 13 years or older. Please sign up using your name (in order to get credit) and communicate the student’s name to either the Team Manager (for Field Duty) or Angie Pickels (for Concessions).
CONCESSION REQUIREMENTS:
- Concession signups will be via SignUp.com. Below is the sign-up link to send to your families. Please send out ASAP so we can get the volunteer slots filled for these early games especially:
PRYL Lacrosse 2023 — Signup Sheet | SignUp.com
- All Concessions will be held at the “Ram Cage” located at the High School. The concessions building is located above the turf field across from Middle School and close to the baseball field.
- There will be 4 concession times allotted per game- 3 people in concession stand, 1 person in bleachers selling drinks.
- There will be NO Concessions at Pine Park at this time.
- Concessions Contact- Angie Pickels- 412-327-5354
FIELD DUTY REQUIREMENTS
- Field Duty signups will be communicated via your Team Manager. There are 3 options:
- Table set up and game scorekeeper
- Grab table from storage and set up on side of field in middle. Keep accurate score throughout the game.
- Clock & Horn/Tear Down Table
- Stopping and starting the timer each time with the referee blows his whistle unless it is a running clock game in which the referee and or coach instructs. The clock keeper should discuss details with the referee prior to the game start on how many minutes in a quarter, 8,10 or 12 minutes and when the referee wants to be notified on time remaining, etc. Electronic game clock/horn will be used. You will be shown prior to season start. You will then be able to show your parent volunteers how to use them.
- Tear down and put back table in storage if your team is the last game of the day.
- Penalty tracker and setting up the extra (handful) of balls around the perimeter of field for game play.
- Boys 14U and 12U. Penalty timer is to keep the time on the penalty box sidelines using a clock timer/stop watch and advise the player when he can return to the field. The referee will determine the penalty time and type of penalty, personal or technical. The player will stay in the penalty box on one knee facing the field ready for his release. At 15 seconds remaining on the penalty, the timer will announce to the player to “be ready” and at 10 seconds count down out loud through 1 second and then announce “release” for the player to return to the field. Timer will note the player number, penalty time and type of penalty on the penalty form placed on the game table to keep track.
- It is the home team’s responsibility to provide the game table, timers, horn, and scoreboard.
- Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your concession or field duty volunteer assignment.
- Equipment located in Concession building at The Ram Cage at Pine Park.
- HOME GAMES: Bring all game day supplies, roster/score sheet, and game box, which include 2 timers and game horn. You are permitted to give the opposing team our roster/score sheet. At the end of the game, hand in the score sheet to your team’s coach.
- As the Team Manager, please communicate with your coaches to see if they have any preferences before games such as, if they want you to take care of the goal creases, extra ball placement, etc. Most coaches prefer to take care of the creases themselves but best to check.
- Uniforms- If parents/players have issues concerning uniforms, have them contact our Uniforms Manager directly. Danielle Rainey – 330-720-1819.
- PRYL Team Photos will be taken by Photography 144. Photos will taken on Monday, April 3 and Tuesday, April 4th. Attached to this email is the order form for picture day. Additional details and schedule will be forthcoming.
- Questions regarding Team Manager duties, communications, team photos or other subjects we have discussed, contact: Dana Speakman – 724-816-8538.
.
Have a great week!!

Please see the following message from Coach Holmes
Parents of PR 12A Team,
I am excited and proud to announce I will be taking over the 12A head coaching position for 2023. When I was asked by our coaching staff it only took me a few seconds to say Yes!
First I wanted to congratulate the parents and boys who earned a spot on the Pine Richland 12-A Team for 2023! Without committing your time, effort, and resources into your son's development you would not be here. Lacrosse is not a sport where you walk onto the field and pick it up right away. This 12A Team was years in the making and 1000's of hours of training across our team to get to this point.
My goals coaching our boys is to develop skills across everyone on our team. My focus is to help build confidence, accountability, discipline, and respect for ourselves and teammates on and off the field. Last year I had the opportunity to head coach the 12B team and at the time I was hesitant to step in. I jumped in head first and it was the best decision I made in 2022. Although not everything went perfectly to plan we had an extremely successful season.
Most important of all is that we as a team, group, organization work together an a respectful manner. As parents and coaches we are role models for our boys. I expect my players to model good behavior. I have extremely high expectations when it comes to Attitude and Effort. I will be deciding who our primary captains will be after we play our first couple games. I am already assessing who will be in our starting lineup with input from our coaches. As I have been instructed by the board we will continue to build a competitive team and program. As the coach of the A team I will be looking for players showing a positive attitude, consistent improvement, and perfect or near perfect practice attendance. Playing time will not be equal however everyone on the A Roster will get game time. If anyone has grandparents or family in from out of town for a game please email Jenna or myself prior to the game.
John Reba did an outstanding job last year and I have big shoes to fill. I care about our boys and this team and I take my head coaching position very serious. I am confident in the coaches we have on staff this year and as a group we will succeed together!
Lineup for 12A Coaching Staff-
Myself - Head Coach
Tony Narcissi - Assistant to the head coach - Tony has an incredible knowledge of the game of Lacrosse and he is highly committed to our PR Lax organization.
Chad Cribbs - Assistant to the head coach - Chad will be running our Defense and has specific knowledge of how we can improve our defense this year. Chad has a very strong understanding of the game.
Bob Senz - Assistant Coach with excellent knowledge of the game and has a very positive attitude which will rub off on the team. Bob brings experience from playing college Lacrosse and knows the game well. Bob will be our Midfield Coach
Ryan Colombo - Coached several years for PR Lax - Ryan has specific knowledge on the Goalie position and will be our Goalie Coach and backup Defense coach.
John Reba - Although we know John will be helping run 14U we also have John helping when he is available. Not much introduction needed for John. He is the backbone of our PR youth Lax program and is an integral part of our organization.
Marc Voit - Marc has been in organized sports for over 25 years ranging from competitive youth to college sports. If we are light on coaches Marc is willing to step up and help if needed.
Marc specializes in speed and agility which will be implemented into our longer outdoor practices.
Jenn Watenpool - Team Mom - most of the communication will come from Jenn and she will need everyone to sign up to help Volunteer. Keep your eye out for emails from Jenn.
As you can see we have a lot of Parents who are committed to seeing our boys succeed and this year will be a major growth year for our boys. I will do my personal best to take criticism as it comes and with that improve my coaching with the help of John Reba and the group.
Please review the rules and guidelines sent by PR Lax a few weeks ago. I only have one request for our parents. If you are upset about something or you feel something needs to be corrected by myself or any other unpaid volunteer please wait a minimum of 24 hours before reaching out.
Thanks for taking the time and I look forward to a successful season together!
Drew Holmes -
